i did'nt fought Napoleonic wargames with something like 2000 (scaled) men per side but i played a few historical simulations of real small battle of a similar period which is well fitted for small battlles..that is Vendée revolt and French Revolution period in Italy with Southerner "banditti" type insurgents vs French or Cisalpine regular..well in any case a kind of assymetrical warfare but not very distant fron Napoleonic...my choosed set of game rules had been as usual the great systhem TSATF with specific amendments for Napoleonic Wars and something borrowed from AWI/FYW TSATF versions...the scale was about 1/10 and about 1/20 for Vendéens, Italian guerrilas or militia type soldiers "Armata Sanfedista"   you can find Napoleonic amendments for TSAT in the dedicated Yahoo Group

Three Cheers for the TSATF.    You might want to try the rule set I grew up with "Column, Line, Square."

Personally I agree that Black Powder or Sharp Practice might fit the bill. i personally like this scale of battle, a good fit for the AWI thinking Cowpens and similar battles, But also think the French rearguard during the retreat from Moscow.

Personally I dont think you would get a game with British Grenadier in 2 hours, they are great set of rules but I havent had a game yet we could complete in a nights gaming.
