Well Im off to spend some mollah at the Smoggycon tomorrow :)
I might also get to meet the infamous Sally of Hasslefree, and the inclusion of a free mini from Warlord games is nice :)

Well Im back from my trip into the dense fog that covered the sports center. There was no sign of the free miniature from Warlord, which was a bit of a shame, and to be truthful there wasnt a lot on offer at the trade stalls. Kev White seemed to have the best idea with that huge banner of his (drew me right in and I didnt even notice he was next to PlayWar, though to be honest what chance does one little table with a few bagged mini's on it have?)

Anyhow, I got to talk to Kev, shook his hand, parted with a vast sum of money (41 quid is a lot of money to us almost struggling homeowners..damn you Kev and your vast glass display cabinets! :P  ).

There was a fair few historical stuff, but a real lack of fantasy and sci-fi themed stuff, unless you like pre painted box sets...

I didnt really get a friendly vibe from the participation games I dont know, maybe I didnt stay long enough, but they certainly werent going out of thier way to make people feel welcome. (Thats only my thoughts though)

The small LARP group was another matter, they even brought a pretty smiling girl in armor out who let people touch her big shiny bits (her swords.) Though I didnt stay to long...something about fellas in tights waving swords about worrys me...

I only stayed about an hour as I had to get things done, but I did enjoy myself and parted with quite a bit of cash, so Im sure everyone went away happy.

There was no sign of the free miniature from Warlord,

or Warlord themselves, as i said in the other thread I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at the show, only ever really see games as eye candy wether they're participation or demonstration  :)
