First battle using Erehwon
« on: 23 February 2019, 12:13:14 PM »
I have been playing Bolt Action for some time now. In my drawers I have a quantity of old Warhammer figures that have jus been sitting there gathering dust. I understood the game had similar mechanics to Bolt Action. With a discount form my local Wargaming store I decided to purchase a copy and give them a run out. It is a very easy game to pick and up. Alex, whose main experience is Star Wars Legion, picked up the rules really quickly. Rather too quickly- he won. If you are looking for a war and skirmish rule set then this proves to be great fun and intuitive. If you want to read more you can read more on my blog https://marctgames.wordpress.com/2019/02/23/3-games-in-5-days/ but you will need to scroll past a Bolt Action Battle report.

Looks like a great game! I'm going to wait for a few more opinions before I lay down money for this. As a big fan of Dragon Rampant and Deus Vult I'm still wondering if I need another ruleset in my life. Thanks for the detailed write up!

You are welcome. The game is of a similar size to Dragon Rampant, but plays slightly differently. All units activate in a turn but in a rather random order, albeit the dice you can allocate to a unit of your choice. Dragon Rampant is a good game. I can’t comment on other game as I have not played it. Providing you enjoy playing games with the rules you chose that is the main thing.

Thanks Mark.
Not managed any games myself yet, so eagerly reading battle reports.
