One of the games played this month at the Devon Wargames Group included this raid-style game using the Osprey published rules, Dux Bellorum, by Dan Mersey.

I gather much fun was had trying to steal livestock while fending of angry villagers with sharp pointy sticks.

Often it is better to remain silent and let people think you are stupid than to open your mouth and remove all possible doubt.

Those 5 game campaigns in LR2 work really well, eh?
Just the right amount of games with just the right amount of commitment.

Doh!
I've just realised. I've posted the above in the wrong thread.
It was meant for the Lion Rampant WotR campaign thread.
Oh well, we can't all be clever, eh?

Nonetheless, that Dux Bell game looks great. Haven't played DB in ages - it's a really good game as well.

Thanks for your comments chaps, even if the odd one had me a bit flummuxed to begin with.

I think Dux Bell is one of my favourite rule sets with a very clever and engaging system and as this game shows, very adaptable to  scenarios other than the straight up shieldwall battle arrangement.

Cheers
JJ
