No it’s not! The second photo is a little blurry though but I think they look good. Do you know how Foundry’s SYW compare size wise with Crusader and Front Rank figures?
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://tistaminis.com/

Thanks! Foundry SYW British and French are much larger than Crusader/Front Rank SYW figures. They are even larger than their own Prussian/Russian SYW figures.

 lol

I always enjoy seeing your work, but I think it might get a bit boring to everyone else if I keep sending cloned posts on every subject you show us  ;)

The standard of your painting is, as always, first class. The subject is a fascinating one, especially when you go into the realms of "Old School" games using fictional armies with the Grant or Lawford rules, but some of the figures are a bit dodgy.

The Grenadier Sergeant has some of the worst "monkey arms" I've seen. Very well painted of course, but a poor sculpt anatomically. They actually reach to below his knees, when they should reach to mid-thigh when at "attention". As ever I'm also impressed by your sheer output and by the quality of the construction of your house and it's foundations. Storage must be a nightmare  ;)

Have to agree on the grenadier sergeant, but apart from the length of his arms, how big are his hands ?

Painting is far better than anything I can manage, looking forward to seeing the full army deployed.

Questions;

What bases size do you use? For Infantry, Cavalry and round Command bases?

What rules are you going to use?  ::)

As Gluteus said, I like to follow your efforts on this stuff (the more as I'm very interested in this period), but I'm lacking creativity in saying nice things. Not your fault! ;)

However, I'm absolutely no fan of Foundry's latest additions to their SYW range. These guys look, at best, like 18th century caricatures. IIRC there were miniatures by the Perrys for this period already in the pipeline when Foundry messed up with them.
Let's say that the substitute is not my cup of tea. Therefore it's hard for me to comment just on your miniatures, which are really nicely painted but terrible sculpts. Again, not your fault.

What rules are you going to use?  ::)

Infantry bases are 40 x 50mm; cavalry 50 x 50mm; round bases are 40 or 50mm; large guns/crew are on 80 x 50 bases; small battalion guns on 40 x 50mm bases. Rules will be the Crusader Publishing  RANK & FILE rules I expect, which we now use for most games from AWI to Crimea, except for ACW where we use my own rules ~ which are better :D

Thanks for the encouragement chaps/chapesses{?} can't agree about the figures entirely. Yes, they are a little of the caricatures, they remind me of the [very] old 15mm by Mike's Models ~ wonder who has my C15th Papal Army now, with the large unit of pink crossbowmwn? However, when painted and based on the table they look very steadfast and somehow very C18th. Perhaps its just me, but that's how I see them. Plus, I got them at a good price, makes a difference you know.
I'm up to three French Infantry Regiments now and have started the third British one, the 27th Inneskillings. I'm off to Claymore this weekend, then Aberdeen to see Kevin and family, so no progress with them after Thursday until I come back.
