Doom Squad in the Congo 1964-65

I decided to try the solo game Doom Squad (by Stephen Danes) for the conflict in eastern Congo in 1964-65.  This was just an experiment so I kept it simple with two "player" teams.  I played a government force with one team of mercenaries and another of Congolese National Army conducting a patrol up a road toward a small village.  As the teams advanced up the road, they encountered two Simba rebels who took a couple of ineffective pot shots.  Within a couple of turns, the teams were caught in a unexpected Simba ambush from their right flank.    Since all the target markets were revealed, the teams fought their way back to the deployment zone without any fatalities so they achieved a victory.   This was my first game of Doom Squad and I liked it.  It creates some elements of tension, suspense and surprise that are needed in a solo session.
