Well, I got some feedback now, and it seems like I may have overthought things. It's weird times. Regular service has been resumed and the AAR of the following game will be up early this week!

A great report! It's a difficult balance between making it too easy and thus having no satisfaction, to on the other end, it being too hard and having no satisfaction...
Losing half your party might be on the slightly too hard end, though it made a good read

absolutely, couldn't agree more, and I think anyone who reads your stuff would be very clear on that. I think actually that there are much bigger issues with what people project onto fantasy stereotypes, but that's a whole other can of (purple) worms.
Anyway - nothing for you to worry about in the context of your post.

Nothing at all wrong with your report, even against the backdrop of current events. Completely different things.

@boneio: Thanks very much. Yeah, that's the thing - with coop/solo games all of a sudden you have to bother with this sort of balance, and it takes quite a while until you get the hang of it. Especially with a rather swing-y d20-based game.

But that's what generates the drama and tension after all.

@Bloggard: Cheers. Yeah, I think I just overthought things. I guess I was just unhappy with the outcome, I don't like the fact that the beastmen are looting that nice town now (I read a fair bit about the thirty years war, which features a LOT of gruesome looting scenes, and I'm probably not able not to summon up these texts in my mind even in a fantasy setting

) and the mind wandered.

Well, I got 15 more Orc blood bowl players. But then it's getting a bit problematic when it comes to hero figures.

Almost finished writing the English version of the next game report. Gotta finish that, then translate it into German, and it should be up later this week!
