Thanks for the photo tour, Anton. You covered the site very thoroughly. I visited Fort Loudon in 2003. It looks like a lot has been added since then. Now I want to go back.
As I recall, the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum, operated by the Eastern Band Cherokees, is just up the road from Fort Loudon. I spent half a day at each museum. If you're in the neighborhood, I recommend a visit:

There is a fine museum, an arts center, the Oconoluftee Indian Village, and Cherokee is an excellent base to explore the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, which surrounds it. I didn't much care for Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, on the north side of the Park, but they are very popular party towns.
