Hi everybody - from 'sunny' North Lincs UK
« on: 15 January 2021, 10:19:47 AM »
It's not sunny in fact its cold and damp today.  I have been a bit remiss and not introduced myself although I have been lurking for a while.

I'm in North Lincolnshire UK, close to the Humber Bridge.  It's not a bad place to live with the bonus of a couple or three active wargaming clubs within easy commute Covid-19 allowing.  However, given that Covid-19 isn't allowing I have been playing solo games, painting figures and blogging to get my gaming fix!  I play almost entirely using 6mm or 1/300, 1/285th scale figures, although I have a couple of 2mm ECW armies.  My main interests are Ancients especially the Viking Age, ECW and WW1 air combat.  Side interests include ACW and science fiction gaming, but not the various GW SF stuff.

I'm past the first flush of youth, in fact as the New Year dawned I realised I'm now closer to 70 than 60!  Which means that I started gaming with Featherstone, Tunstall and Grant era rules before discovering WRG Ancients.  Currently I am using DBA 3 for a solo Viking Age campaign, ADLG may get a run out for that as well.  Altar Of freedom are in the frame for ACW.  I wrote my own WW1 air combat rules by borrowing bits from a couple of 1970's board games and I have almost finished a set for the ECW as well.

So that's me then.   I look forward to getting more involved in stuff.
I came into this world with nothing...you can guess the rest

Aye, welcome!

I had a couple of pints in the British Legion in Lincoln once, when Hereford were playing Lincoln City many years ago. That unfortunately describes my entire experience of the county of Lincolnshire, I'm sorry to say. But it seemed like a nice place, and left me with a favourable impression.

I do not recall the match, we probably lost (we usually did), but I remember leaving Lincoln in a good mood, so perhaps we didn't. :)

Welcome!

I too live in sunny Lincolnshire, specifically Lincoln. Tis a lovely place, despite my being here!  :D

There are a few LAFers in the county that I am aware of. I believe Fenris Games are now based locally too!

Welcome!

I grew up in Lincs, a bit south of where you are now - but I now live on the other side of the country.
