Wargames Atlantic 28mm Conquistador and Renaissance Cavalry

The long-awaited Conquistador and Renaissance Heavy Cavalry boxes are out from Wargames Atlantic and boy are they nice! Excellent detail and posing with realistic proportions and a host of weapon options these little beauties will fill that gap in your 1525-1620 armies. A full review of the sprues from both sets can be found here:  https://antonswargame.blogspot.com/2024/12/wargames-atlantic28mm-conquistador.html

I do like them and bought a box of each. My one gripe is with the breastplates on the Ren Cav - there are 4 bodies, 3 with the same kind of breastplate that has both some sort of placard on the bottom and a reinforced collar on the top, no strongly emphasised globularity and no sharp central ridge (it is the same style they put on their foot Conquistadores). I am just totally unsure what historical armour is it based on, I cannot really find any equivalents in other manufacturers' mdoels or actual surviving armour sets. Granted, I'm not thta versed in this period at all, so maybe someone more knowledgable could comment?
