The Normande, a very common milking cow around here for cheese production, Brie, Camembert and Babybel are predominantly from this breed. Apparently bought to Brittany and Normandie by the Vikings in the 9th century.

Ah yes,had a look at Google images,they remind me of Speckle Parks,my nephew has a few. I wonder if they originated from Normandy as they are a Canadian breed.

I would imagine so, in the 1870s a lot of Bretons, Normans and Mayennaise went to Canada after the Franco Prussian war.
