A couple of river boards
« on: January 11, 2022, 02:36:57 PM »
Finally got round to making the last two river boards. The three straight ones were done years ago, but I finally made two curves, one with an island, one with a marshy area.
Both 2 foot square 6mm MDF with 3mm cork tiles on top.
The water is a coat of varnish and then artist acrylic texture gel on top.

Very nice. I like the undulating ground of the board- it looks like gentle, naturally rolling grassland.

Agree, the undulating terrain looks good - as do the river sections (hope they match well to the old ones!).  Gel still setting when the photos were taken it seems - or you've really mastered the wet look.  :D

The gel had been set for a week or so when the photo was taken. I had one of the old sections out when doing this one to get a good match.
