British Napoleonic 1815 Uniform help needed
« on: 12 January 2022, 05:54:34 PM »
Hi all,
Just a quick question:
I’m painting a box of Perry plastic British as 28th @ Waterloo.
Which heads should I use for the officers?
The Bicornes or normal Stovepipe?
Any thoughts….
Thanks
Paul

Here's a picture

That’s what I was using as reference.
The box doesn’t contain a stovepipe with the more extravagant plume of the officer shown.
So I was thinking just use a standard one.
I imagine after all the rain they had it wouldn’t look quite so grand.

Thanks

Battalion officers would have been Shako by 1815. The Bicorns were pre 1812 uniform.

A little glue on the plume should thicken it up.

With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss
