Social protest skirmish gang
« on: 03 February 2022, 12:40:17 AM »
I'm trying to track down a game I vaguely remember.  I think it was a set of rules for the social protests in the 1960s-70s.  It was more political faction based than strictly military or cops vs gangster's.  I thought it might be called something like Summer of '68 but can't find that name.

I think the cover, or at least the website associated with it had an enlarged newsprint photo of a protest over a colorful background.

I think it might be similar in concept to Wild in the Street, but that's more 80s-90s with music themed gangs

Does any of this sound familiar?

Thanks for any help
Remember, remember, the Dalek December
With Paris in ruins and London in ember
In times of the future when fears are abating
Don’t try to forget them, the Daleks are waiting
Quietly planning and scheming and hating…

There's the whole Winter of 79 setting? Effectively a grittier VBCW comes 40 years later
And it did spawn a rules set - "Winter of 79 living on the frontlines", available through MiniFigs

Thanks.  Was this originally published by someone else?  I'm not sure if this is the game in thinking of, the cover and website look different from what I remember.  But either way, I'll definitely be checking Winter if 79 out

Was it 'Aggro' with 70's hooligans and police?
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

There's these https://freewargamesrules.fandom.com/wiki/Civil_Disorder
I've never played them.

There was a game made by SPI that may be what your looking for. I can't remember the name either. I think it was about the Democratic Convention riots in Chicago.

At first I thought it was this, but maybe not:
