We finished a campaign! (Hungary 1848)

Regular forum browsers will have noticed a number of posts from me over the past fifteen months reporting on a succession of refights of historical battles from the Hungarian War of Independence of 1848-1849. This week we fought the fifteenth and final battle. Here are the photo-reports of battles #14 (Szőreg):

It is gratifying to have completed such a substantial sequence of battles at a steady rate of one a month – high enough to sustain interest, moderate enough to allow variety of other games in between. Inevitably the cast of players changed a bit, but the core team got to play the great majority of games. It's been a really interesting and educational way to follow the course of the war and become familiar with the generals, the regiments, and the armies.

These games also served as playtests for the resulting "Bloody Big Hungary '48 Battles!" campaign book that is consequently now almost ready for publication so that other gamers can have as much fun from these scenarios as we have.
