Hyacinth Games (Wreck-Age) out of business?
« on: 25 February 2022, 02:57:05 PM »
Hi all,

Anyone know what happened to Hyacinth Games? Their website seems to be down and social media is nothing but tumbleweed.

They had some good minis, and I was looking forward to their Church of Fun finally being released.

Yes, sadly they closed shop. It's been a year or more since it happened, if I recall correctly.  No clue what they did with their ranges.

Ah, that is a shame. They had something relatively different going on - it wasn't always coherent, but it was always interesting!

That is a bummer, indeed. I have a decently-sized Wreck-Age collection and always looked forward to seeing them @ Adepticon. They weren't there this year, so I was worried this might have happened. :-/

Yes, it is a shame. IMHO the very "low-tech" setting of Wreck Age was the stand out PostApoc background amongst the myriad of rule systems in the genre. Really excellent set of rules.

I was a huge fan and supporter of Hyacinth right up until they decided to introduce vehicles, jet ski boats and such crap into the system. I still play the original game and continue to add proxy figures from other ranges that fit the style to my collection.

Just a note that the Church of Fun was released before they shut down, a starter and a couple of add-ons were available from the webstore, but I imagine they would be hard to find at this point.

I've got the first version of the Church of Fun, but they came out with a second set there at the end, I guess. Not sure why the redid them, if that was what happened. Still kinda bummed they shut down. Fingers crossed they maybe went into hibernation for Covid and will return sometime soon.
