French Old Guard Flags and Fanions, 1813-1815
« on: 18 June 2022, 05:13:14 PM »
I know that the Grenadier and Chasseur Corps of the French Imperial Guard had one eagle each. I know the Young Guard carried red and white fanions and the Middle Guard carried blue fanions.

But what did the second battalions of the 1st Old Guard regiments carry? Tricolors? Fanions? Nothing…?

Any ideas?

Thanks! I had seen that previously, however. It is the only source I have been able to find on this and it indicates the second battalions carried red fanions after 1812.

But seeing as how this is the only source I could find on this, I am wondering if there is confirmation anywhere else?
