Primosole Bridge???
« on: 03 August 2022, 11:14:45 AM »
Newbie here.

There were only a small handful of battles involving paras against paras during WW2, the fighting at Primosole Bridge was one of them and one that doesn't get mentioned a lot.  Has there ever been a movie done on this battle?

What Bolt Action (or other brand) sets would be ideal for replicating this battle?  Did the Brits wear regular uniforms or desert uniforms?  Researching online can be misleading, I don't know if I'm looking at actual photos of the time or re-enactments  :o

What should the terrain board look like?

There is a good free scenario for the Rapid Fire rules which shows the table layout and gives OOBs (set for those rules but easy to re-work for other options).

For this size of battle and the very dispersed forces I think Crossfire or Point of Attack would give a good game.

Check out the SOGG game from a few years back, absolutely stunning.
It is 20mm which gives a little larger scope of battle.
IIRC they use RF.

Thanks folks and keep it coming, the more I learn the better.  Here in the states we're too far away to just hop in the car and see what the battlefields were like, I'm not complaining!!!

I've got a few US, German, and French Resistance figures but have yet to get any British or Italian figures so I'd be starting on the ground floor for a Primosole (Primasole???) Bridge adventure.

Wasn’t this where Headly Verity the famous English cricketer was mortally wounded?
