Cool. Short but well put together as a fan product. I don't know who I'm rooting for, the pirates or the mercs.

Same here. Right now I'm rooting for the defenders, simply based on the fact that I like their paintscheme better and I usually tend to favour the underdog  ;)

I do feel though, that the dropship, while perfectly serviceable, does not scream Battletech to me, and the lead pilot of the attackers feels a bit wooden, but the overall product is highly enjoyable for sure. Can't wait for the next installment now...

I'm pretty sure the mechs were borrowed from the Mechwarrior 5 game by Piranha games (mentioned in their credits) The dropship is the same type from that game. It would have been nice to see a union class dropship instead I agree. I liked the locust at the beginning.

I'm a classic BT fan at heart, so I prefer the old unseen mechs to the re-imagined ones, but yeah; the Locust has always been one of my favourites. Ever since reading the very first BT novel detailing the origin of the Gray Death Legion in fact. And I got really good at using it in stand alone missions in Mechwarrior 4 (I think?).

I recognized the attacking Catapult and the defending Thunderbolt and assumed the defending scout mech was a Locust because of its speed and light weaponry, but the others, while cool, were not recognisable to me.

Loved the hovercraft though :)

Those were entertaining given the constraints of machinima.  I don't know about an open coffee mug on the dash of your Shadowhawk, but what's a few blown panels among friends.

The Dropship is a leopard class usually for transporting a lance of Mechs.  The Mechs for the Eques lance are The Commander in a Shadowhawk, a Catapult, Hunchback, and a Rifleman.  The Pirates so far have (or had) a Locust, Thunderbolt and a Trebuchet as well as Tanks and such.
