Painting Dead Trees
« on: August 20, 2023, 06:07:47 PM »
I'm looking to paint a bunch of dead trees but my brain always wants to go to the color scheme I generally use for live bark. I'm wanting to achieve this sort of look. Wondering if anyone has an idea on how to achieve it?

I start dark grey, add grey-green highlights and patches of bright green and light grey here and there for lichen and such. Of course, if you're doing DEAD dead, as in not in a forest or something I'd leave out the green, just grey.

Thanks Cubs! Yeah this is for a desert like terrain. I always figured dead trees looked grey to me, but couldn't wrap my head around how to approach it.
