Rulesets/Game Systems for Russo-Japanese War?
« on: 21 November 2023, 02:35:38 AM »
Hey all,
After falling in love with Tsuba Miniatures' Russo-Japanese range, I've decided I want to wargame skirmishes or maybe even platoon-level actions of the conflict, which hopefully incorporate cavalry. Is there any ruleset especially adept for this task?
Looking forward to your responses!

Hi, Google shows up 2 sets. "Ikonki; Russo-Japanese Land Wars" by Ostfront Publishing available from Wargames Vault for $7.50 and "Muckden to Megiddo" by Andy Callan available as a free download from the Jacklex Miniatures website. They also have a painting guide and sample scenario. I haven't played either but Andy Callan has a good reputation as a rules writer and I have played and enjoyed his "Loose Files and American Scramble" AWI rules.

Apart from these you might look at rules for early WW1 or something like the Russian Civil war?
