Gaugamela at the Joy of Six 2024 - a report
« on: 18 July 2024, 09:03:15 PM »
Last weekend we did a demo/participation game at the Joy of Six in Sheffield, UK. The battle of Gaugamela, which we played twice with great participants, with an s-load of 6mm miniatures at a 120 x 240 cm table. More at my blog, to which I also added photos of the other great games at the show.

Nice looking game!

I have the Macedonians and am slowly working through the Persians to do this in 15mm with Xyston figures

A great looking game.  I was sorry I couldn't make it, maybe next year.  Glad you managed to get two games in and thanks for the photos of the other games.

Fantastic stuff- I do enjoy musing on how differently history might have gone if the Persians really had captured Alexander and forced a peace- looks like a cracking game either way :D

Well played.

I have to admit, your rules look intriguing and I would love to see them in action in some sort of video.  The written word alone I am having a hard time wrapping my head around them.  However, I love the concept of a word based resolution mechanic.

I have been/are considering doing something YouTube-ish… but feel lacking the skills, tools, and good locations for filming…
