How do you paint your black uniforms, just one coat of black or do you high light in any way?

Next question purchased hospital staff that are wearing the disposable apron. Any suggestions on colour, white does not look correct on model.

Police figures from football hooligan range, so uniforms 1970’s which I thought was black. May be wrong.

Add a little dark blue (Vallejo Dark Prussian Blue is ideal) to black. Layer up by adding tiny amounts more until the black has a blue sheen. Final highlight add a little pale blue-grey to the mix for edge highlights to the pockets, collar and creases.

Victorian, but the same principle applies....

I undercoated black a number of Police figures, then dry brushed with Vallejo Black Grey.
 I then washed the uniform with Citadel Nuln Oil.
