Moss Troopers question

I'm currently working on a Moss Trooper warband for smaller skirmish games and atm. I'm thinking ex-professional soldiers gone rogue and I'm arming them with an assortment of swords, pistols, the odd axe as well as a couple of muskets. Would a targe shields or two look out of place or would it be authentic?

I don’t see why not but limiting to one or two would be best I reckon.
