Darwin Aviation Museum, Northern Territory, Australia.
« on: 07 September 2024, 10:29:49 AM »
About eighteen months ago I was fortunate enough to find myself at the Darwin Aviation Museum, host to nineteen civil and military aircraft, that includes among others, a B25 Mitchell, replica Spitfire VIII and the mighty B52, along with a display of twenty-one aero engines and crash site relics.

Previously known as the Australian Aviation Heritage Centre, the museum displays aircraft and aircraft engines of relevance to the Northern Territory and aviation in Australia generally, and its ambition was later broadened to include the documentation of World War II aircraft crash sites and the preservation of aviation relics related to the defence of Darwin during World War II.

If you would like to know more and see my take on this interesting collection then just follow the link to JJ's

Visited this Museum during August this year, well worth spending the time to drop on if you’re in Darwin!

Thanks for posting…

Is there an exhibit about the RAAF track and field events they ran during the 1942 Japanese bombing? Some of them ran half the way to Adelaide. ;)
