28mm Orc army for KOW - update: More Wolf Riders (21/12/2024)

Chimpfoot, Basementboy, thank you very much for your comments and sorry for the delay.

Let me show you some reinforcements for the foot regiments of the Green Horde.



Here is the standard bearer, from of a famous Regiment of Renown, Harboth and the Black Mountains Boys, next to a similar Citadel warrior for comparison.


The next one is Maniac, a C15 Orc, from a range sculpted by Alan and Michael Perry and released in 1985.


And last, a few more archers from various manufacturers (Citadel, Grenadier, Old GLory and Reaper).


Next to come: more Wolf Riders.

Those are great! I love seeing the older models, especially when they are very well done. I am glad to see this project continue!

Great work! As others have mentioned, you do a really great job of making minis from different manufacturers and time periods work together. That's inspiring for someone whose pile of plastic and metal stretches back into the last century (as I imagine a good number of people's piles here do). Thanks for sharing!

As announced yesterday, I've also painted a troop of Wolf Riders, and I now have enough for a regiment.





Most figures are Grenadier, such as this standard bearer:

I hope you like them. I will try to make a picture of the whole army, but I first need to paint a nice background for the display.

Thank you very much! I will probably make a pause in this project, because I'm planning to build a small Alahan army for Saga - Age of Magic. I should display the first figures within a few days, as soon as the bases are finished.

Last comment I made on this thread was almost exactly a year ago, but honestly this is one of the most inspiring Orc armies I've seen. I'm really loving it, I hope the pause to do other things isn't too long!

I, too,  hope it won't last too long, but I have at least 4 other armies to complete in 2025:
- an Alahan force (using old Rackham figures) for SAGA
- an Imperial Roman army for l'Art de la Guerre
- a German army for l'Art de la Guerre
- a mythological Egyptian army for l'Art de la Guerre - Fantasy version (home rules)
