« on: 18 March 2025, 11:33:25 PM »
Hi folks,
Does anyone know of a uk stockist of these game books?
There were a series of them black cross, blue sky (battle of Britain) white star, blue sky (us bombers over Germany) etc.

Cheers,

Jim

I've thought about getting these but they only seem to be available in the States from MSD games:

BoB didn't seem to be available. I do wonder what I would get from it that I don't get from Tumbling Dice Wings at War range of rules, although theatre specific stuff might be interesting.

I have the Luft 46 rules and sups and quite like them so thought it would be a logical choice to go with these as an earlier period setting. I was most interested in the white star book with its bomber theme, than the others really. The OCD in me however is insisting I get them all, because well just because!!

I've not played or seen the TD rules, whqt are they like? I'm not a fan of the over simple or complex so if they are in that nice midground then I might give them a try? Are the rules available without the starter sets as I have more than enough aircraft as it is.

You can find a free download of a base version, desert spitfires, here:

http://wingsatwar.com/pageBonusGame.htm

Each version is based around the same energy management mechanic, but they are all distinct, specific rules. The packs (?10 each) are sold with about ten aircraft, but are most effectivd when you have at least double that on the table. They are designed to get a lot of planes on table. They also have asymmetric victory conditions, so in Thud Ridge you can deploy 6 MiGs and some SA2's against 30 US aircraft with a good chance of achieving your objectives. Although the rules aren't sold separately on the site, I have been told that you can get them separately if you make contact.
