A trio of Fighting Friars of The Church Militant, the most powerful of several different religious and martial organizations within The Embattled Realms. While similar to Battle Preachers (shown in an earlier post), they are less physically direct in their methods for vanquishing the ungodly. Whereas the former more often combine the power of faith with great skill at arms, these clerics mostly use their God-given supernatural abilities to inspire, heal, and counter evil from slightly behind the battle line. They also are frequently found in non-Church forces as they are often on mission, bringing the gospel militant and its blessings to those outside their institution.

Additionally, it is not uncommon to find a friar (or several) residing in one of the many small rural communities of the Realms, especially in lands badly requiring spiritual guidance and protection. In this role, they can lend their often significant ?magical? prowess to a village?s meager defenses, a great benefit in regions such as the sparsely inhabited and dangerous Forsaken Lands. Combined with the superb martial skills of the adventurous and valiant Knights Errant Of The Realms, a friar?s capabilities can greatly help a small settlement fend off opportunistic raiders or worse.

Using the Fights of Fantasy rules, Fighting Friars are generally magic class characters of common, superior, elite, notable, renowned, or legendary status and their armaments (most often, but not limited to staves) and protection (usually supernatural armor of some form) will reflect their status, being common, enhanced, or enchanted in nature as the individual friar?s abilities dictate.

The figures here are ?Townsfolk VII: Clergy (3)? from Reaper Miniatures and are painted with Reaper paints. The colors used were:

Grey brush-on primer - overall.
Snow shadow - robes.
Icy violet - robes.
Rich leather - belts, boots, and pouches.
Fair skin - skin.
Russet brown - staff.
Pure white - beard.
Blond hair - hair.
Reliquary gold - cross, bracers.
Leather brown - gloves.
Glacial mist - cloaks.
Ginger cookie - rope belts, hair.
Pale lichen - trousers.
Muddy olive - bases.
Flesh wash diluted with wash medium - skin.
Black wash diluted with wash medium - overall.

Thanks! All I did was paint inside the lines then apply a black wash but it seemed to work.
