Help with uploading images to this site please

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do you actually upload an image on a thread? I click on insert image, and i get two little boxes in brackets with img in them, how do I actually get my jpg to actually show on the post? I have tried copying and pasting to each box or between them but nothing seems to work. Many thanks Adam

You need to upload your image first - either here in your gallery or somewhere else - then copy the link to your image and put it between the sets of brackets.

Matt, I know you run a hotel, but I didn?t expect your blog to host MAGES!

I've done a both the tags and placing the url from a photo hosted on my blog in those tags or just using the "Attachments and other options" which is so much easier, but a little less control. in my experience.

A question I do have is, any photo loaded directly with the "Attachments and other options" route... how long do they stay around? I mean, I've been considering the end of blogging soon and I can imagine once my blog goes down then all those image tags are gonna go to dead links so the posts here will lose those images.

So, I wonder, if I just start uploading directly here...how long will they stick around? What even would cause them to get lost? A software update of some sort?

Currently, there is no "retention period" specified, and while bandwith and data volume are of course a concern, as far as I know they should stay on for as long as the forum does.

If too many folks use it for off-site hotlinking, though, we may have to consider introducing limits of sorts. So don't spoil it for everyone.
