Clockwork Black Smoke Projector Unit
« on: 17 March 2010, 04:33:08 AM »
So dangerous for soldiers to employ, a new use for clockworks has been found that does not endanger them from the toxic fumes of these terrible weapons.

Still working on the bases of course. Original figure is a D&D Hammerer with a large metal hammer raised up over its head. I have clipped the hammer off, removed the most of the handle, added the metal bead Cone to the haft of the hammer. Then pin and mount to the shoulder of the figure as its primary weapon. On its opposite shoulder, the remains of the original shaft of the hammer has been converted for use as a shoulder point defense weapon of some sort, technical reports have not been released on that item nor could the investigative reporters obtain any leads on it. For its final line of defense is a mechanical claw for those brave enough or.. foolish enough to press into hand to hand range.

These look very nice.
What size are they?
Have you got a photo next to a figure please?
Where did you get the bead

Those look quite great!

Perhaps the bit on their shoulder could be a searchlight.

I'll have to go into the Beading shop in Kenilworth, have a wander around...  :D

Brilliant. I would be tempted to find a similar bead for the other side and have double fire power. Are these beads too large for the left side?

Or drill out the end to make it look like a barrell?

Or perhaps some type of small arms weapon to deal with automata...

Yes, good idea - maybe have the main weapon as a short-range smoke projector  and the shoulder-mounted one as a mid-long range smoke bomb "mortar", like you see on modern afv's.

Yeah my girlfriend is starting to think I'm mad. Ordering multiples of the same star wars toys, ordering random kids toys from Argos!

She just says 'Oh, VSF again?'.

But then, she starts joining in too! So it's not too much of a bad thing.

Very nice - I was only looking at a Hammerer yesterday.

I was planning to use it "as is" - just shows what you can do with a little imagination.  lol

The bead is metal and from GLOBAL NOMAD line by BLUE MOON Beads. They have quiet a few beads that are really suitable for vases and other "bits" uses.
Here is a shot of a 28mm Brit Sailor next to one of the clockworks
