Ottoman army of 1715

From the 'vaults'. No idea where I got these from, but pages from a book giving the numbers and commanders of the various contingents of the Ottoman army moving from Adrianople to Thebes, with times to reach various way points. Pages not in order.

Ooo, that's useful.

For something.  Not sure what yet.  But it will be.

Probably.

Two things stand out for me:
1) 2000 Cairo Janissaries, that's double the total they had in 1798 when the French arrived

2)  the 2000 Serdengecti "enfants perdue" which are sort of fanatic volunteers for forlorn hopes, usually associated with the Janissaries; but here they are taken from the Sipahis and another cavalry corps. That's new to me.

Lots of useful little nuggets in there - such as the time taken for the army to reach a waypoint. The division of Sipahis into ‘right’ and ‘left’ units. The variety of contingent sizes.
