Saw this film on telly once (possibly as long ago as when it came out back in the 80s) and never since. Been struggling to track it down for years, severely hampered by the fact I couldn't remember what the hell it was called. But yesterday it suddenly came to me!
Sarraounia!It's about the Hausa queen Sarraounia and her struggle to keep those pesky French from taking over her country in the 1890s. A Burkinabe/French co-production.
Unfortunately since remembering the name all I've managed to find is a trailer for it online. Doesn't seem to be available in any format, anywhere. Couldn't figure out a way to embed it in the forum post Youtube-style, so here's the link:
