I use that wash, too, over tallarn flesh. It's great. Then I re-tallarn flesh it and highlight with elf flesh. Comes out alright.
Only catch is that I'm having problems getting decent shadowing on some of the coppletsone and artizan faces I've been doing recently. GREAT figures, just that I'm still figuring out how to do these faces. They're less detailed than the GW ones I'm used to.
The wash does a great job of blending the tallarn flesh with dark flesh in the recesses. Problem is that I'm having a hard time keeping the recesses that dark-flesh undercoat color. If I brush back on, it never quite looks right. My brush technique is alright but this I find really challenging.
If I could get more of that ink, thin it a bit with water, and brush it on so it would really flow in the crevasses, then use the ogryn wash to blend, then tallarn again, etc, I'd be really happy.
