We got together with Jebus, Zac, and Eric to playtest a couple scenarios last night. Eric is pretty new to miniatures gaming and had never played Pulp Alley before. It is always fun to introduce someone to the hobby, and I think he really enjoyed it. After his first game Eric was ready to play again, so he and Zac tried the same scenario as a 2-player game.
Here are some pictures taken during the first game. Zac (middle) and Eric (right) are setting up while Jebus’s proxy keeps a close eye on their every move
--
As play starts, Algernon discovers one of the renegades hiding inside the Dos Cabeza trade post. However, finding the renegade proved to be much easier than making him talk! --
Zac takes a moment to explain the subtleties of a 3-way skirmish to Eric, “First, never shoot at any of my models…”
--
With foes on both sides, Jebus decides to go for the center. He quickly moves an ally to hold the fallen head ruins --
Meanwhile, Dr. Phlebo ruthlessly interrogates a renegade in the native camp. Watching from behind a hut, Renard decides to run away and report his findings to Algernon --
So then we have Doc meeting with one of the rebels in the jungle (top), Algernon’s men firing their rifles from the cover of the Dos Cabeza post (left), and the red cultists quickly moving through the camp and huts (bottom) --
Far faster than anyone expected, Dr. Phlebo’s cultists cut a bloody swathe to the ruined heads. With a hail of bullets flying from the trade post on his left, and Doc getting closer on the right, Dr. Phlebo only had a few seconds to wrest the great red gem from its hiding place. But would a few second be enough? --
Note: For those of you playing along at home, the boys were playing scenario #4, The Gauntlet.
THANKS!
