Ok so life, house extension, work, the twins and everything else has been a bit hectic of late and I've been lets just say, less than prolific. But I grabbed a few hours tonight to start working on a little vehicle project I've had brewing for around a year now.

Introducing the Funvee 'extreme conditions tracked hummer':

Since I saw a tracked hummer on a google search and then in the snow scene in Inception I wanted to do one, so to speak. Ian at Fenris always said tracks were on the cards, but as I knew Ian would be busy on lots of other stuff I didn't want to wait and looked around for some suitable tracks.

Linked to my Halo project, (there's some concept art I've got in one of my many Halo ref guides with a tracked warthog too) I got in contact with Tony at Abberant games in the US and enquired as to a 'bit's order. (I also wanted a load of CSO peacekeeper arms and helmets to go with a load of system trooper dolly bodies that Si at Pig iron sent me through.

After a few months Tony was able to secure my order and send through those limbs, plus a load of tracks from one of the CSO robots, that I thought would be idea.

Now I needed a spare hummer body and Ian's annual miscast bag share at Salute allowed me to bag a turtleback body that needed a little bit of filling and working up.

Mocked up the tracks with blue tac last week:

All looked good.

So armed with these bits, a little bit of plasti-card and my trusty pin vise I went to work. This is where we are now:

Addded a new front bumper assembly and a sump guard/plate at the front and drilled and pinned the wishbones to accept the track units.Mocked up now, just the flexi antenna to add properly and sand down all the filled areas and we're good to go. Perfect for use with Andy's (manic miner over at Four A miniatures) snow colonial marines, (as seen in the pics).

Will have a further play over the weekend (add exhaust stack, possibly mirror etc...) but so far so good.

Troopers can be purchased from http://www.fouraminiatures.com/page2.htm Hummers from Fenris games http://www.fenrisgames.com/shop.html#ecwid:category=2202357&mode=product&product=12329238

Feels good to get my hands in again, hopefully more to follow.
Tracked warthog to come too!  :-* ;)

Yep, this looks great!  Does mean you have to do a snow covered table and terrain too though...  :D

(Hoping this is elite sculpter Lovejoy here from the froth side? If so any update mate?)

Snow table......could be. ;) But I'll be honest, my Halo courtyard table is so grey and white that with minimal work... it could work if you know what I mean.

Cheers all, off to paint the new studio now, sooner it's decorated sooner I can decant and start painting properly again.

Dunno about elite sculptor, other than that I sculpted an Elite,  ;) but yeah it's me. A bit embarrassing to admit, but I haven't got any further with the Halo-ey aliens... sorry! But if the greens are any use to you, shoot me a PM with your address and I'll post them to you - you can do whatever you want with them, chop them up, cast them, bin them, whatever!

Nothing to see here just derailing my own thread  :D
