Not an internet resource, but the Cthulhu Mythos Encyclopedia (3rd Ed, by Daniel Harms) is pretty handy, and not terribly expensive.

The original Call of Cthulhu rules had a reference to whatever piece of work each entry in the creatures section came from.

Off the top of head here are the RAFM monsters that were not created by Lovecraft.

Formless Spawn - Clark Ashton Smith, I seem to recall a pair of Hyperborean thieves encountering one.
Hounds of Tindalos - Frank Belknap Long, I don't remember the name of the story.  First thought is "The Hound", but that's a Lovecraft tale.  Maybe it was "The Hounds of Tindalos"?
Tsuthoggua - Clark Ashton Smith, The fuzzy bat eared Great Old One was CAS contribution to the Cthulhu Mythos.  That and the book of Eibion.
Hunting Horror - Not sure about this one.  I don't recall a Lovecraft story that describes or mentions these.
Sand Dwellers - Another creature I am unsure of, I don't know the source, but am fairly sure it isn't from Lovecraft's works.
Y'Golonac Great Old One - Ramsey Campbell, "Cold Print" if I'm not mistaken.
The King in Yellow - I can't remember it this is a Robert Chambers creature of not.
Gnoph-Keh - Possibly a Clark Ashton Smith creature?
Chauga Faugn - Very cool Great Old One, but not a Lovecraft original.  Don't know the author.
Summoning of Lioigor - I'm guessing this is a Ramsey Campbell critter, but I am not sure.
Shugoran - Don't know the exact author, or tale, but am certain it is not Lovecraft's.

The rest of the Rafm monsters are the creations of Lovecraft, and have appeared or been mentioned in his tales.  Proto-Shoggoth for example is mentioned in "At the Mountains of Madness", but never appear in his stories.

The Malleus Monstrorum for the Call of Cthulhu game from Chaosium Inc is a pretty effective reference book - and they have a complete credits in the back listing where all of it came from, as well as prefacing each monster with a quote from the story where it was first found.

'The King in Yellow' is a play in the Robert Chambers stories. They predate Lovecraft's works and are really nothing to do with the Cthulhu Mythos. Lovecraft referenced the play, and other Chambers stuff in his work. August Derleth and Chaosium are responsible for the transformation of a few words and unexplained vague references into a full-blown Great Old One with a set of gaming stats.

It is Robert Chambers?  My memory is a bit better than I thought.  Not sure if I read the King in Yellow, I do remember the Repairer of Reputations.  Funny thing, I just finished one of his Novels "The Slayer of Souls" from 1919.  Truly awful stuff, it has some interesting bits like the Magical Conspiracy originating with the Mongols, sounding much like what's been happening with the recent BPRD comics.  It also has a annoying romance subplot, and some Red scare stuff.

Yeah, you were right. The King in Yellow is the name of the short story collection that contains The Repairer of Reputations, The Mask, In the Court of the Dragon, The Yellow Sign, and a bunch of others. There isn't actually a story of that name.

If you really want to know what beasties came from what stories/authors, the Call of Cthulhu rulebook is indispensable - although in some cases it may not reference the origin of a creature, but rather an example of it in a piece of fiction. Here's what the CoC rulebook (5.6th edition) says about these:

Formless Spawn - Lovecraft & Zelia Bishop, "The Mound" (one of my favorite HPL "collaborations", BTW)

Hounds of Tindalos - Frank Belknap Long, "The Hounds of Tindalos" (Sure, everybody remembers the Hounds, but what about the space eaters?!)

Tsathoggua - Clark Ashton Smith, "The Seven Geases"

Hunting Horror - August Derleth, "The Lurker at the Threshold"

Sand Dwellers - Clark Ashton Smith, "The Seven Geases"

Y'Golonac - Ramsey Campbell, "Cold Print"

Gnoph-Keh - Lovecraft & Hazel Head, "The Horror in the Museum" (another excellent collaboration, IMHO)

Chaugnar Faugn - Frank Belknap Long, "The Horror from the Hills" (although reminds me a lot of REH's Yag Kosha)

Lloigor - Colin Wilson, "The Return of the Lloigor"

Here are a few more from CoC 5.6:

Dark Young of Shub-Niggurath - Robert Bloch, "Notebook Found in a Deserted House"

Serpent People - Clark Ashton Smith, "The Seven Geases"

Servitor of the Outer Gods - August Derleth, "The Lurker at the Threshold"

Tcho-tchos - August Derleth & Mark Schorer, "The Lair of the Star-Spawn"

Yig - Lovecraft & Zelia Bishop, "The Curse of Yig"

The Repairer of Reputations was my favorite.... of was it the Yellow Sign?  I remember a squishy puffy man that is revealed to be a corpse / fungus at the end.  The first Call of Cthulhu game I ran included a butler with a similar description.  Needless to say the player characters refused to touch their tea and sandwiches.   lol
