SE Asian pirates... need help!
« on: 19 August 2010, 03:01:11 AM »
Hello.

I've been looking about the place but can't find what I'm after.

I've just been reading Flashman's Lady and want to do a similar setting but obviously in the pulp era. I'm sure they wouldn't have the best quipment around or anything, but just getting the look of what I need is proving... tricky.

Thanks!

I believe that Eureka does Dayaks and Tiger does some decent Malays in their Warriors of Lombok pack.

Excellent, so that's the tribal side of things... what about some modern pirates with rifles or muskets?

... in the spirit of answering one's own question... I think decent pirate types would be the Copplestone Bandits and Bandiot Chief packs.

What have other poeple used in the past?

I like the foundry figs that Svenn has recommended. I'd also look at using Boxer Rebellion figures to flesh out Chinese river pirates. Old Glory has supplied most of my Boxer Rebellion forces.
