Trigger
« on: 24 August 2013, 05:11:53 PM »
My mind told me there was nothing wrong with this figure and I toyed with the idea of adding pinstripes , but every time I glanced at his shelf something looked awry. Get a grip, I thought, once they,re  varnished you d,ont touch them again - that,s  the rule - what,s happened to your iron will ?   Collapse of stout party . You see I,d initially pictured him as a Planter / River boat gambler / Southern Gentleman / Peter Bowles type - some cove who might be found hanging a souk in Cairo or Baghdad .But here he was in a suit Trigger might have been proud of. Oh the shame of it , it,s no good, something has to be done .............

A nice cool linen suit ideal for tropical climes east of Suez. With his hands covering his gun and his hat pulled down strategically over one eye I reckon he will fit in from 1840 to 1940 , sits back and takes a sip from his Singapore sling, sighs contentedly and puts figure firmly back on shelf.

The entire purpose of rules is for them to be broken (not cheating!  :o you cad) and you've admirably broken your own rule here.  Definitely more utility in white.  In blue he really only looked fit for a gangster game.

Gangster game indeed - Gad sir you,ve  gone too far ! choose your weapons - feather dusters at 20 yards. Seriously do you think he could pass as a Flashman in the Orient figure ?

I only engage in battle with feather dusters when my opponent is a shapely lass in a French Maid's outfit - with the purpose of dusting off her costume. :D

I see the figure as a former member of the Confederacy, high ranking planter, in found it diplomatic to go on a world tour, an extended one, after that conflict ended.
