Remember, remember, the Dalek December
With Paris in ruins and London in ember
In times of the future when fears are abating
Don’t try to forget them, the Daleks are waiting
Quietly planning and scheming and hating…

Someone's going to scratch itself on a piece of this "smallpox" victim and a full blown Zombies outbreak will result… just wait and see ;D
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

How long does the Smallpox virus survive? Does it go into a dormant state?

Forget zombies- I'm more worried about smallpox coming back. A lot of people are not immunized.

"The crash of civilization doesn't require much, the smallpox outbreak only killed 30 million in the US, but they were the young active people. Travel was restricted, the percentage population of older people grew, with fewer available to take care of them. The nation was plunged into a constant state of mourning and depression, it having been decades since society had to deal with massive death by disease. The sputtering economy ground  to a halt. Then (X) happened driving the final nail in the coffin and things fell apart."

X can be a limited nuclear war in the Mideast, a new more dangerous flu strain, zombies, whatever.

Just how much does it take to start the end of civilization, one big act or would a bunch of smaller ones do.

Great post! I'f you got the modelling skills, a direct copy of this into 28mm scale would be a very nice Scene of Horror.

Yeah, I got lucky to get the big horror clix Cthulhu for only $25 on sale at a comic store.  & I bought it with credit from some books I'd sold.  So no money out of pocket.

Of course I've never used, & can't leave it set up because it scares the crap out of my daughter.  But it's good to know I have him in reserve buried in the garage.
