Perry/Foundry/Old Glory ECW question
« on: 09 November 2010, 03:57:01 PM »
Hello,

some weeks ago I decided to do buccaneers and to use Perry ECW musketeers. I had to recognize that these miniatures are very small and especially very skinny. So they don' t fit to my foundry pirates which are to tall.

Now I would like to know, if the Foundry ECW and marlburians will fit sizewise? Aren't those also Perry sculpts?

And how about the Old Glory ECW range?

No help with the Foundry figures, but respective sizes of Perry and Old Glory can be checked here:

From memory though, the Foundry ECW are an old range and rather short. And slightly bigheaded.

I have seen this picture before, and the Perry figure shown here is a command figure. The ordinary musketeers are smaller (about half head).

I have three of the Foundry artillery crew and to be honest they are not that nice. Painted they do the job, but only just. Also, they are on the smaller side.

I think the Foundry pirates were the first of the 'hero' scale figures on the historical market, being slightly larger than 'normal' scale figures.

cheers

I believe they are but they are from a much earlier time and are therefore not the same size.

Interesting question.

However my main concern would be the size of their weapons, equipment etc. People may be different sizes (look at the members of any wargame club  ;) )

Agreed, but for me the miniatures must look proportionally similar and height is usually the least of the concern.
