I would expect that our esteemed colleague Ignatieff managed to get a few pictures while he was there, and I can't wait to see them

Since it is you, Ignatiff, I am surprised you came out of there alive. I'd expect you to be overcome by angina pectoris or at least  vapours extremis by sheer impression overload.

hahahahahaha!  lol

I thought the reds were partial to a bung, couldn't you have slipped her a tenner to use the camera?

Excellent! Glad to hear that you both made it out of the not-an-art-gallery in one piece  :)

I think the funniest thing is that, normally, photos are more likely to be banned in an art gallery than a museum of recent history! (due to the flash harming the paint)

Great read though. Here's hoping to see the six that got away.

Reminds me of crossing the border from France to Spain when Franco was alive. Middle of the night, getting out of one train, walking an impossibly long distance carrying a suit case, Civil Guards men with submachine guns eyeing you as you walk, getting on the much more run down Spanish train at the end. It was like something from one of the old war movies. All we lacked was Bogart.

Thanks for your story. Pricelss!
