Don't see a lot of Great War aerial action here so ..... apologies for the bad picture (I
really must get a new camera) but here is a shot of a couple of Skytrex Red Eagle 1/144 WW1 aircraft.
An SE5a on the tail of a Halberstadt CLII (the rare earth magnets used to locate the planes to the flight stands have been angled - this simple trick makes the models look much more dynamic. They may all be at the same altitude but at least they are not all at the same attitude)

I do like the (and have many) Wings of War models a lot but these white metal kits are compatible size wise and cheaper at around £5 a pop.
Assembly however, can be a little tricksy and the transfers included are a basic, but the range covers most of the War in the Air.
I have tinkered with my own adaptation of the Two Hour Wargames free Chain Reaction rules - these allow a good solo or confrontational skirmish game with a few models on patrol over the western front. Enemy or Allied planes can pop up anywhere on the board as potential threats that need to be investigated and the Reaction Mechanics realistically mirror the Yeager aphorism "it's the man not the plane" - you know what you woul like to do but you can't always do it and a higher skilled pilot will always have better odds than those less able.
I really must spend more time on it - but it is in a playable form (as long as you are familiar with or download the free core rules) and if anybody wants a copy pm me and I'll send you one.
I also play the game with Tumbling Dice 1/600 planes - tiny but not too shabby (and can be played on a small map like a board game)
I might snap a picture of them later.
