Last of the V8 Interceptors - Road Warrior
« on: June 27, 2011, 12:29:36 AM »
I finally decided to post something again.  I was inspired by the V8 Interceptor at the Skank Game website and decided to make my own version of the car from Road Warrior.  It is certainly not the same car, but it looks close enough to get the point across.  A few minor issues like I used a 1968 Camaro instead of a Ford Falcon XB, and the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car (or the correct side depending on where you live).  Anyway, here are some pictures.  See what you think.  Cheers.

Hey great work on this.

A few minor issues like I used a 1968 Camaro instead of a Ford Falcon XB, and the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car (or the correct side depending on where you live).
As an Australian who really likes Fords, this is blasphemy, but as a miniature painter and modeller, this is a brilliant "stand-in" for the Ford Falcon XB. With our hobby somethings need a little bit of "creative license" to get them over the line. - JOB WELL DONE!!

Love it.  Do the headlights light up.  Looking at the pics I can swear they're lit up.

This is cool. I love the detail on the interior.

What scale is the car in? Is it a kit or diecast toy?

Sorry for note responding sooner.  I had to go out of town for work and didn't have internet access.  Thank you for all the nice comments.

re: scale.  The car has 1/48 scale printed on the bottom, but I suspect the scale is off a little.  It looks a little big compared to some of my minis, but overall it seems to work.

re: model v. diecast.  The car is diecast and I found it at a local drugstore, Rite Aid I think.  This is the one and only Caramo I have seen in this scale.

re: lights.  The headlights do not light up.  They are just painted really well... and not by me. ; )

Thanks again.  I hope to post some more pictures of vehicles soon.  Cheers.
