Thing is, he's had two coats of Dullcote already. I don't know whether to blame it on the lighting, or if I'm not applying the stuff properly.

don't like Dullcote, just isn't a reliable one, I'm using Rustins, but that's a bit tricky, try it with Winsor & Newton Galleria matt varnish, sounds like a good one:

Great mini. I am waiting for my Hasslefree version.

There are reams and reams said about matt coats. My receipt is to do a good solid and resistant enamel glosscoat anfd then top it of with a couple of layers of acrylic mattcoat. Try various suggested brands till your happy. I use a local, generic brand artshop sort.

Yeah, the mini is made to 40mm scale, but I think it works with 28mm figures. Because he's Hellboy. Y'know? Dude's huge...
