Linka Moulds
« on: 20 October 2011, 12:26:58 AM »
Has anyone had any experience with these?
I'm thinking about getting the stone mould to save myself all the time taken scoring foam.
Any info about scale/size/and general usefulness would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I have some to sell, but sadly not the range you're looking for.

Now, basicaly, the scale is more HO intended (20mm). Most of the usual molds will make it in 25mm but the doors, windows, etc.
My biggest concern is with the quality of the mold : being used to deal with Hist Arts molds, I was expecting something better : they pretty hard and too light in the same way, so you have to 'press' them during casting in order to elude misformed shapes. With that in mind, you might be able to come with excellent texture for your sceneries.

They are HO scale and can be used for small 28mm bricks.  Real small 28mm bricks.  The molds only cast out about 1/8 of an inch thick and the casts crack fairly easily using when hydrostone or Merlin's magic.  They are pretty cheap to purchase so I would not try to dissuade you from trying them.  If you are looking for a mold that works for 28mm, I would suggest the small brick mold from Hirst arts.  It cost more, but will last longer and produce better results. That is my two cents.
