What's this, Then?
« on: October 14, 2011, 01:30:40 PM »
Really like this mini and it struck me as very Lovecraftian, but I don't know where it would really fit in the Mythos. It reminds me of the form that Dr Pretorius takes upon his return form the parallel world in From Beyond.

Anyone any ideas?

Waiter, my soup is giggling.

Does it really 'need' to fit?
It looks Lovecraft-y to me.  i.e. thing that nightmares are made of.
So good enough.  ;)
But that is a kinda pricey model...

Don't really want to start filling the thread about where to buy mini's with things I think look Lovecraftian.

Great model. Has kind of a lost-Whately-cousin kind of look to it... I can hear the whippoorwhills at night.

It would be a perfect failed resurrect experiment, Charles Dexter Wards' style. It has my vote for an inclusion in the "where to buy" thread.

What this is, is the EXACT miniature that I was looking for, for an adventure that I ran awhile back.  This is perfect for the Call of Cthulhu adventure from the Mansions of Madness book, entitled Mr Corbitt.  this is the clost you will get to the Man Bagari creature.

You don't give link to it, where can it be purchased?  I'm always adding to a thread that contains links to all the miniatures available for a Cthulhu game, which is getting PRETTY big now!

Thanks for that.  I've done a search but cannot find it to purchase, poor search skills on my part, or not available anymore?

It's not available from Cipher (who do the English Hell Dorado stuff) yet

http://cipher-studios.com/

and the former publisher Asmodee doesn't seem to be selling anything for HD anymore.  You'll just have to wait for the re-release unless you can find one on ebay or through the trade boards here.

You might also find Wormpile (from the HD Lost faction) of interest for Mythos use:

That one's available from Cipher right now.

Excellent, I've added them to my list, and will likely purchase them both.  I've put my list on the end of the pinned "Where to buy Cthulhu mini's" thread.

The ones I have are 28-30mm. They mix well with Hasslefree minis, for example. ;)

I'd say closer to 30mm than 28mm - the human stuff I've seen is pretty tall, although many are pretty slender.

Managed to find a copy of the MoM supplement online - you're right, it is a good match.
