Super Ruler : size ?
« on: 24 October 2011, 12:54:58 PM »
Hi,

I plan to create my own inch ruler for SuperSystem (since here in France, inch measure unit is not common, especially in my local aera). I just wanted to know what size (number of inches) do you think I should use for my ruler ?  I'm not familiar so far with SuperSystem, so I don't know for now the maximum ranges (weapons, powers) usually seen in the game...

thanks !

Hm. Tough question. I think Supersystem is more of a tape measure game than a ruler one.

You want it to be at least 16" because iirc that's short range. And my son's hypermove character can easily race across 24-30" of tabletop.

OK, I'd probably try to find a measure tape instead of a rigid ruler, in that case.

Thanks !  ;)

If you've got the equivalent of US "Dollar Stores" in France, try those first.  You can buy a half-dozen cheap made-in-China tape measures for the cost of a single one from a hardware or home supply store, and they almost always have both metric and Imperial scales on them.

I went in a hardware store today, all metric, sadly. I'll search more in the next weeks, first I have to paint some minis  :D

just ask them if it has inches on it should have as standard in the UK as we use both  :D

Some of the GW games used to come with a handy red stick ruler.

thank you both for the answers !

I had some of them. But SgtHulka said that the game needed long range ruler (about 30")...By the way I thought it was strange since the suggested table size is about 120cms  :D Some of the super heroes' got huge ranges !  lol

Perhaps I should just built two rulers, one short range (around 10-15") and one long range (around 25-30") ?  Do you think it will be good for the game ?

Or you could play in 15mm and use centimetres.
