come on Plynkes, I don't mind them being on top -

for those needing a link -

http://www.brigadegames.com/go.mvc?ID=BGHME

These haven't been inked or sprayed with the normal primer as my photographer is having issues getting it at the moment.

The artillery piece is by Mike Broadbent and is simply fantastic.

As with anything I sell, if gamers buy them, I will keep making things that are requested. Regarding the Sikh Command, they have been on the list for quite some time. I don't always have the ability to control exactly what order Mike does things. This IMO keeps the creative process flowing and better results come from it.

I will emphasize that he needs to complete it though. To be honest, everyone wanted sikh HMGs and I haven't sold a lot of them and at times I wonder if I am throwing good money after bad. This is just one case. Another is the recently released Brits Lewis Guns in shorts and Wolseley Helmets. So far the sales for those are disappointing.

Hi Lon, thanks for your feedback. What you have achieve for the gamer/collector for WW1 is very impressive and whilst there will always be tough competition out there loyal folks and those new to the period will always appreciate your support and commitment.

Please don't worry as I'll be back into building up my WW1 forces next year. As you know I've already have five packs of Sikh HMG teams :) and I'll get the remainder early next year.

Yes it would be good to see that Sikh Command/Character pack completed very soon. We are getting more folks interested in our gaming club in Canberra. The same applies to the Belgian Command 8)

Wishing you well.
Best wishes,
Helen

Let me see.
With a head change those Asien korps guys would really make a  great Schutztruppen crew. Now, where is my Milliput?
The Turks won't suffer from an identity crisis.

I already bought  Renegade guns but this one looks way better and to scale.
As soon as Nick has them, 4 of these gems are mine.

Lon,

Plynkes might have a point here. I really like your figures but some of the ranges are just too limited.

Take the East Africa range for example. For those not keen on converting figures you've only got 4 different poses (and a command group) in the Schutztruppen range. You probably won't see many gamers build an African army like they would do for say, Napoleonics with literally thousands of figures .
I believe I'm not the only one who wants as much variety as possible in what I would call skirmish armies.  To give you an idea, by now I have converted no less than 92 Schutztruppe and  German Askari figures using parts of your figures and probably half a dozen other ranges.  Still need about the same number to complete the army I want.. If they would have been available in your range I would certainly have bought them immediately, since the quality of your figures is far better than most.

Same with the WWI range. Started collecting your figures years ago (late Germans) but gave up eventually since new figures were thin on the ground.
Again a skirmish army of no more than 200 figures all in all and in this case in the end I  went with Great War miniatures since they were compatible with yours. I would have PREFERRED yours but they just weren't there.

Now, I do realise for you there has to be an economical resaon to bring out new figures, but somehow I can't help thinking that the lack of variety figures might cloud the economical issue and as such your view on it.

Then again, maybe there aren't all that many idiots like me that prefer 16 different looking figures in a 16 man unit.
Panic, Chaos and Disorder. My job here is done

putting 8 unique poses in a pack is double the sculpting cost, which is doubling the time to break even for the same number of packs. I originally never did the schutztruppe in flat caps/neck flaps because sales were poor of the slouch hat pack after encouraging sales of the helmet. And customers asked for the slouch hat so I was kind of baffled on that one.

I don't blame anyone for anything. I am just bringing up economic reality. If one sculpts for themselves it is obviously easier to afford to do alot of variants. It makes it even easier f the sculptor also has a full time gig paying the regular bills.

I do have plans to do a bunch of variants of figures during 2008.

I can understand that you have to look at the sales numbers. For my part I would have bought the Sikhs long ago if they had a command. I have the two infantry packs, though. Ordered the Cav and Mountain Gun in August at North Star, but they seem to be unable to deliver them.

For my part, I'm happy with a range like the Aussies. Around 30 different poses, command and heavy weapons available. But starting a new army where I don't know when it'll be playable? I wouldn't have bought any Sikh if not for the possibility to mix them with the Aussies.

I would buy quite a few of these if they were more easily available.

When Nick @Northstar was carrying them (this seems to have ended??) he invariably wouldnt have all I wanted as stock at shows which leaves mail order. Postage costs are the obvious downfall but also what stops me ordering is I want too many - I stop myself doing one big order as I do not want to outlay a couple of months figure budget in a single transaction and smaller more frequent orders are even less economical.

On the other hand mail service form Lon has to be the best ever. Fast, reliable and very reasonable P&P costs. What stings me mostly is that our friendly customs service usually adds another 40% to the cost so I too prefer to buy in the UK or Europe if possible at all.

Nick no longer carrying the range is extremely bad news for me and without doubt for many others.

Brigade's stuff is still on the North Star website as being for sale. Unfortunately I have stuff on back-order from months ago, and still no sign of it.

Have no idea what is going on.

I used to just buy from North Star, but they don't carry everything and so I sometimes go direct to Lon. Never had much in the way of problems with him, but North Star's inability to provide the goods is distressing, and while I will still shop with them for other things, it looks like I'll have to go the New Jersey route in future for Brigade minis.

Bummer.

Thirty different poses is indeed more than enough- four just isn't to most people. The German Sailors have less that thirty but I still managed to fabricate some 40 more or less different figures.

Lon,
what you said may prove my point somewhat. The initial sales for the 4 helmeted figures were encouraging you said, but the ones with the slouch hats weren't .
Could that be because the slouch hats were in fact the exact same figures except for the hat? I'm almost certain that you would have gotten a much bettere return to your investment if you would have brought out another one or two packs of helmeted figures before you did the slouch hats. That's still only 12 different figures all in all in all, but with a command group, a machine gun and perhaps a gun crew would make a nice basis for a skirmish army.

Anyway, if you start adding variants to your existing East Africa or late war German ranges I'll start buying them at once.

Same with me. I'm a bit disappointed that nick at North Stars tells me everytime I ask that my order will be amongst the next delivery he receives from Brigade. But I noticed yesterday he hasn't Brigade on his site anymore.

Hopefully good news. I just got an email from Nick at North Star saying my figures were in and did I still want them.

Still, four months waiting has put me off using North Star for Brigade (though obviously I'll still be going there for Great War Miniatures). I think I shall be going straight to the horse's mouth from now on, whatever the size of the order.

(Previously I would go to North Star when I just wanted the odd pack, and to Brigade for bigger orders, or ones that included stuff that North Star don't stock.)
