Very hard to say if there will be a Barsoom gaming craze after the movie is released. First of all, as we all know, such projects can take several months or even years to complete, and that doesn't even take into account that a great deal of specific miniatures would have to be made first. So even if the movie is a big success (at least for fans), we probably won't see an immediate impact in the weeks post-release. I also don't think that there'll be a licensed miniatures game as the case was with Lord of the Rings and Games Workshop, so by default any gaming projects would be adaptions of existing or upcoming rulesets, which might be off-putting for those hobbyists that don't like to tinker with houserules, custom army lists and so on. Personally, I would really like to see the movie succeed and maybe even warrant some non-direct-to-DVD sequels. One thing I can say is that if it doesn't bomb, there will probably be a board game based on the movie (hopefully made by Fantasy Flight Games) with plastic miniatures that could be used.
