I'll be getting some of those Vaettir, plus a couple of the orcnar would be useful too. Those Mcvey figs are very nice but too pricey for me. I think I'll be getting the Hasslefree not-Prince Nuada ( http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?product=ceril~hfe007&category=miniatures~elves ) to lead the faction, and relegating the RP fig to a mage.
I've also got a couple of Heresy Miniatures figs which iirc were called 'Lurkers', but no longer seem to be available, which would go well with this faction.

The McVey minis are a little pricey, but worth their money ;)
I was buying them just because I liked them and included them afterwards into that project ;)

The Hasslefree Prince is also on my list.
Mine is inspired by the Training-scene in Hellboy 2.

The Heresy Lurkers are also a good choice.

if you have any idea for a "nice" Redcap let me know

All I know about the Redcap was he was small, had a red cap (dipped in blood of his victims) and wore big iron boots. Sounds like a GW goblin to me  :D

Of course, you can bend the story a little, perhaps his head/face were red due to eating his victims flesh, and he had big feet instead of big boots.  Check out the Gremlin here (not the winged ones, further down);

Looks like something else to add to my shopping list. I like the sea demon set too.

Yes, was also thinking about a Goblin/Gnoblar/Hobgoblin.
But the Gremlins are also a good idea, have to think about it :)

A Lepricaun would make a good gang leader or lurker.

A Leprechaun would certainly make a good lurker, but I always felt the image we have of them is too cartoony. I want this faction to feel dark and bloodthirsty, so if I do include a Leprechaun it will be represented by a model not meant to be one. A bit like the redcap mentioned earlier.

I've just purchased a set of those Vaettir from a trader on Ebay, cost me £5.60 (free p&p) compared to £9.20 (inc p&p) from the manufacturer! Big saving.

Yep lol

I may have to promote the Sidhe to the front of the painting queue. Need a colour scheme now.

Just posted some more ideas to the blog, regarding the 'Cult of Apophis'.

Regarding the canopic monster, you could look to the Ammut figures from Monolith:

http://www.monolithdesigns.co.uk/field_of_reeds.htm (scroll to bottom)

They lack the more overtly Egyptian stylings of the Smart Max model, but are considerably cheaper and still large – that whole range is 36–40mm, whatever that means for a monster. There are 4 variants, but only 2 are pictured.

Nice one Smith, cheap enough to convert too. Pity there's no photos for the other two.

You can also check the "Hordes" range for some Crocodile-types, also Reaper, maybe you find something.

"Helldorado" has some nice Berbers/Beduines too, which I would have for trade.
PM me, if your interested ;)

Thanks for the offer Comsquare, but they're too medieval/fantasy for me. These are more like the sort of bedouins I'm after;

Anyone know where I can get similar models in the UK? Northstar don't seem to stock these.

Try here:

http://www.artizandesigns.com/list.php?man=2&page=1

They're Artizan figs, stocked by Brigade in the US, but distributed by North Star in the UK.

Thanks there Smith, I thought the sculpting looked like Mike Owens, but for some reason I just couldn't find them on the Artizan website. looks like I need to go to Specsavers! They'll be great as bodyguards/cultists, especially with the addition of Ali, Jamal and Fariq from their Thrilling Tales range.

Looking through my collection I've found what I think I'll be using as the canopic beast;

http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/14059/sku-down/14059#detail/14059_af

- completely different to the original, I know, but why spend money when I've already got something which could be used? Just need to find some canopic jars now. Or get the greenstuff out, trouble is with my sculpting skills they'll look more like buckets.

I'm thinking that The Everliving must summon the Beast, and can only do so whilst he has any intact Canopic Jars, which are very hard to come by (in the post game phase of a campaign). Possibly needs a young lad to carry them too, who must be protected. Given the size of the Beast, perhaps they are very large jars, almost amphoras? So a figure of a lad carrying an amphora would be useful too.

Just a quick note about the Sidhe - I've decided to use some of the original Mordheim Beastmen as warriors in this faction, the ones shown at the bottom of this page;
